Since it’s the eve of Christmas we wanted to wish all of our readers and members a Happy Holidays and we hope you are surrounded by your family and friends.
We leave you with these adorable Christmas engagement photos captured by Melissa McCrotty Photography. Here is what Melissa had to say about this coupleL
Brooke and Nick met in college, where both worked for the football department at the University of Arkansas. Their initial meeting didn’t leave Brooke with a very good first impression….a wild toss of the football by Nick managed to hit Brooke square in the face, and her first thought was….”That jerk!” Eventually, she realized he wasn’t so bad, and Brooke ended up making the first move by asking questions about Nick’s new purchase…a 3D TV. He invited her over to “see for herself”….and that, as they say, is that! Brooke and Nick are getting married in their college town of Fayetteville, Arkansas in May, and the two celebrated their engagement with this fun country-Christmas themed engagement session!
Today’s trend setting Tuesday is to help you prepare for Thanksgiving decor with spray painted pumpkins. Since last week we did a feature on gold and everything gold, we thought this week we would show you how to spray paint pumpkins for place cards, decor and anything else. A little creativity with colors and simple spray paint can make a huge difference for your table centerpiece this year.
What you need:
– Bags of small orange pumpkins (you can use white too) We got these at Safeway on sale for $2.50 for a bag of 8
– One can of spray paint, any color. We like the Krylon Metallic Gold. It worked well on the pumpkin and it stayed on when it was dry. We also bought a glitter gold to spray on it but you couldn’t really see it so we suggest going with just the metallic.
– If you have an old piece of ply wood in the backyard they make for great spraying boards. I would try to stay away from new paper or anything that would stick to the paint. You can use a tarp or plastic liner.
– rubber gloves (this keeps your fingers from getting gold)
We would hold the pumpkin and spray the bottom of it then sit it down and spray over the top. Because they were sitting on the table I didn’t care so much if the bottom wasn’t perfect. Evenly spray over pumpkins and let dry for an hour.(If your a perfectionist like my husband then you would put them upside down spray the bottom, let them dry for 2-3 hours then turn over and spray the top. I’m too impatient to wait that long and I still think they turned out great!)
We also wanted to share that we found these adorable leave bowls at Michael’s on clearance for $1.00. They add perfectly to the table.
We thought we would share some of our favorite celebrity Halloween costumes from this weekend. Halloween is definitely one of our favorite holidays! We love getting dressed up and we have so much fun handing out candy. We hope you have a safe Halloween! Have fun!
Mariah & Nick Cannon as Milk and Cookies / Jessica Alba and Family as the Indestructible Super Heroes
Hillary Duff as Day of the Dead / Scott Disick as American Psycho
Christina Aguilera and Matthew Rutler. Christina has gotten a lot of slack for wearing this and saying that she is too heavy to be wearing something so revealing, but get it girl! Not enough girls have the self confidence that she does and we applaud her.
Emma Roberts channeled her famous aunt in this hilarious take on her Pretty Women outfit.
Fergie dressed up as Angelyne, a model and actress most known for purchasing billboard advertising for herself. Josh went as Dennis Woodruff, a filmmaker who makes homemade movies starring himself.
Heidi Klum who every year host a killer Halloween Party.
The Jersey Shore couple Roger & J-Wow rocked the nerd look in Las Vegas.
Kayne & Kim took the Nautical approach as a Mermaid and Skipper.
Paris Hilton and her date went as the Mad Hatter & Alice.
Ryan Seacrest & Julianne Hough as Bonnie & Clyde.
And our favorite is Nicole Richie and her friends as the Troop Beverley Hills girls. I cant’ wait to get my friends together next year to pull this off. One of our favorite movies growing up. They pull it off perfectly too.
We also thought we would share some Halloween inspiration in case you are hosting a Halloween Party!
