Today’s Trend Setting Tuesday is all about wedding orchids. This flower has been seen in bouquets, centerpieces, boutonniere, and all kinds of floral arrangements for many years. They are considered the luxury wedding flower and so delicately beautiful. The most popular of the wedding orchids is the White Phalaenopsis. The best place to find these amazing flowers is at the San Francisco floral mart. So when working with your florist ask if she has access to the floral mart. This will help you keep the cost of the flowers down but will give you the luxury look that you want. This is a flower that will never go out of style and will be gorgeous in your wedding pictures for years to come. There are so many wedding orchids to choose from, which one will you choose?
Today we bring you a beautiful wedding at Orchard Creek Lodge. We love the gorgeous waterfall at this property and the amazing pictures you can capture at this property. We know this wedding had to rock with Extreme Productions Entertainment as the DJ and MC for this event. You can find out more about them in our Wedding Binder. Today we share an adorable western themed wedding from Texas captured by Andy Sams Photography. This is what Andy had to say about this fantastic wedding:
“I am so excited to share Lucy and Alex’s wedding at Star Hill Ranch with you today for several reasons. First, come on, look at them! They are a great looking couple with even more attractive personalities. Second, the couple put a lot of thought and time into the details of their wedding, which always makes my job more enjoyable. With the economy in its current state, it’s reasonable for wedding-bound couples to only splurge on decorations or a photographer. Lucy and Alex were fortunate enough to spread the wealth among some really awesome vendors that I had a pleasure working with. From beginning to end, Lucy and Alex’s wedding was as entertaining as it was beautiful. The officiant, Barry Chin of Capital Cowboy Church rode in on a real, live longhorn. His presence really sealed the deal on a truly Texan occasion. During the cocktail hour, Zydeco Dots played an awesome set and Alex even hung a washboard over his shoulders and joined the band. The forecast called for 100% chance of rain that day. We lucked out and avoided the dreaded wedding day dampness for the most part – even ended up with a rainbow!” Andy Sams Photography.
For today’s Trend Setting Tuesday we bring you something fun and different, feather bridal bouquets. Not everyone loves flowers or you might even be allergic to them, so what is your alternation to flowers, FEATHERS! We were looking for some feathers to add to our cousins bridal bouquet and came across some feather flowers that look just like Peonies. She really wanted Peonies in her bouquet but they are out of season and super expensive. We were able to buy some gorgeous feather flowers on www.save-on-crafts.com. You can also add Ostrich feathers to your bouquet or peacock feathers. We are in love with Cloe Ann Designs feather bridal bouquets.
These are the feather peonies we found on save-on-crafts.com.
We are in love with feather bridal bouquets from Cloe Ann Designs on ETSY.com. They are so cute and very affordable.
And don’t forget about the guys they can have matching feathers too. Cloe Ann Designs
Or if you are a flower lover you can always incorporate some feathers into your bouquet as well.
We thought these wedding pictures of Adam and Ashley at their Charolettesville Vineyard wedding were so cute we had to share. Simone Fox Photography captured these cute photos in DelFosse Vineyards Charlottesville, VA. The gorgeous hillside winery reminds us a lot of Mayacamas Ranch in Calistoga. Such a cute wedding and we love the bright blue colors of the bridesmaid dresses paired with the tan suits.
Today’s trend setting Tuesday is to help you prepare for Thanksgiving decor with spray painted pumpkins. Since last week we did a feature on gold and everything gold, we thought this week we would show you how to spray paint pumpkins for place cards, decor and anything else. A little creativity with colors and simple spray paint can make a huge difference for your table centerpiece this year.
What you need:
– Bags of small orange pumpkins (you can use white too) We got these at Safeway on sale for $2.50 for a bag of 8
– One can of spray paint, any color. We like the Krylon Metallic Gold. It worked well on the pumpkin and it stayed on when it was dry. We also bought a glitter gold to spray on it but you couldn’t really see it so we suggest going with just the metallic.
– If you have an old piece of ply wood in the backyard they make for great spraying boards. I would try to stay away from new paper or anything that would stick to the paint. You can use a tarp or plastic liner.
– rubber gloves (this keeps your fingers from getting gold)
We would hold the pumpkin and spray the bottom of it then sit it down and spray over the top. Because they were sitting on the table I didn’t care so much if the bottom wasn’t perfect. Evenly spray over pumpkins and let dry for an hour.(If your a perfectionist like my husband then you would put them upside down spray the bottom, let them dry for 2-3 hours then turn over and spray the top. I’m too impatient to wait that long and I still think they turned out great!)
We also wanted to share that we found these adorable leave bowls at Michael’s on clearance for $1.00. They add perfectly to the table.
We are happy to share this adorable home wedding sent to us by Tiffany Anne Photography. Here’s what Tiffany had to say about this couple.
“Larry is a teacher. Laura is a doctor. They met at a local swing dance and, while they only danced once, Laura left an impression on Larry. They decided not to kiss until their wedding day. And, Laura told me that while Larry assumed it would be during the ceremony, she had other plans. As any photographer, I love couples who decide to have a first look. And, while I didn’t hear anything she whispered to him, I do know that I got to take pictures of Larry & Laura’s very first kiss. I was swoony all over the place! Laura’s favorite color is pink so the place was covered in it! They got married overlooking the lake at a the house of a family friend. It was a hot June day in South Carolina, so instead a long party dancing and dining outside, Larry, Laura and their friends headed out to the lake! It was a fun send off. :)” – Tiffany Anne Photography

This super good looking couple fell in love at first sight at their job. They both work at the Excalibur show, Tournament of the Kings in Las Vegas. She’s a dancer & he is a knight (in shining armor). Straight out of a fairytale, these two are so cute. These adorable engagement photos where taken at the Dry Lake Beds on the outskirts of Las Vegas. You could truly see love radiating out of these photos. Thank you Gaby J Photographer for sharing this sweet engagement shoot.

Mariah & Nick Cannon as Milk and Cookies / Jessica Alba and Family as the Indestructible Super Heroes
Hillary Duff as Day of the Dead / Scott Disick as American Psycho
Christina Aguilera and Matthew Rutler. Christina has gotten a lot of slack for wearing this and saying that she is too heavy to be wearing something so revealing, but get it girl! Not enough girls have the self confidence that she does and we applaud her.
Emma Roberts channeled her famous aunt in this hilarious take on her Pretty Women outfit.
Fergie dressed up as Angelyne, a model and actress most known for purchasing billboard advertising for herself. Josh went as Dennis Woodruff, a filmmaker who makes homemade movies starring himself.
Heidi Klum who every year host a killer Halloween Party.
The Jersey Shore couple Roger & J-Wow rocked the nerd look in Las Vegas.
Kayne & Kim took the Nautical approach as a Mermaid and Skipper.
Paris Hilton and her date went as the Mad Hatter & Alice.
Ryan Seacrest & Julianne Hough as Bonnie & Clyde.
And our favorite is Nicole Richie and her friends as the Troop Beverley Hills girls. I cant’ wait to get my friends together next year to pull this off. One of our favorite movies growing up. They pull it off perfectly too.
We also thought we would share some Halloween inspiration in case you are hosting a Halloween Party!
