AN EDUCATION ON CUSTOM
After years in the fashion industry and currently as the Co-Founder of ROYAL PARK & BALL™; I find there is still much confusion in regards to the world of custom wedding suits and its benefits for your wedding versus off the rack or rented. Often times I find grooms surprised that Iʼm not a 60 year old half-balding man running around looking for my trusty tape measure. Men often come in with a look of fear and walk out with a look of appreciation. I can reassure you the process is laid back and very painless. A great Style Provocateur will provide a condensed lesson on the proper fit of a suit, capture all of your “perfectly” chiseled dimensions, along with the different styles and customization options.
THE EXPERIENCE
The initial meeting starts with a conversation about your lifestyle, passions, personality, as well as what you do for a living. This allows us to create a garment so unique, so well-fitting it can be worn by only the client himself. We then look at your fabric options. The drape, the performance, the interplay of pattern, texture and color. Choosing the perfect fabric is paramount to constructing a personalized garment. After fabric selection we can talk customization, this can be anything from specialized linings that may include images of your favorite moments, to a color to coordinate with the wedding theme, contrasting stitching, monograms and even stitching the date of your wedding into your suit to commemorate the event. In addition to the suit we can custom make ties, pocket squares, bow ties and much more. Now itʼs time to measure. We proceed by hand – taking over 30 crucial measurements to deliver the perfect fit. Our suits are renowned throughout the world for their cut, fit and construction.
It takes approximately 4-6 weeks to make each suit with around 40 man hours being spent cutting, stitching and finishing your suit by hand. Depending upon cloth choice and care they should last longer than you. Paying homage to good old-fashioned personal service, we keep every client abreast of the progress of their garments, from concept to creation. We utilize the latest state-of-the-art technology to manage clientsʼ measurements, specific patterns, and previous orders. This constantly updated wardrobe profile enables clients to acquire their next ROYAL PARK & BALL™ garment with absolute ease to perfection.
STYLE OPTIONS
With all the suit options out there you may ask which one is right for me. A tux is always a good go to, but I have found that a lot of guys are beginning to lean towards getting suits for themselves and their groomsmen. This allows more freedom in regards to personalization and they are able to wear them on more then just one occasion. When it comes to style there is no right or wrong way, itʼs a matter of having the freedom to express who you are through what you are wearing. It doesnʼt define you it merely reflects what you would like others to see.
